My Keto Journey

I post a lot about emotional and spiritual healing but recently I added a third element to my healing process.

Back in April I made the decision to take charge of my health. I stopped smoking for good, no more occasional puffs even, radically changed my diet, and developed a more active lifestyle.

I ran my first 5k! It really helped having a goal to work towards. I used the couch to 5k app to prepare myself for the challenge.

I’ve also lost a total of 15 pounds eating a ketogenic diet. Here’s the breakdown of macros.

I know, that’s a lot of fat! However, since adopting this way of eating (woe) my labs have improved significantly.

My blood pressure, which was at crisis level regularly went from average 170/90 to about 124/70 on average, my pulse rate from 90 to 62, I was pre-diabetic and now my blood sugar is normal.

I still need to have my thyroid checked as Hashimotos runs in my family.

Adding collagen protein has dramatically improved my skin tone. Fine lines and wrinkles have smoothed over.

Although my personal weight loss has been a bit slow, I am in this to reduce inflammation in my body that has caused numerous health issues over the years.

Each week i’ve started sharing my healing journey and the physical, emotional and spiritual changes that I’ve experienced and continue to experience. I will pick that up again next Saturday on here.

This is a path to wellness for me; mind, body, soul, much more than weight loss. It is my hope that my personal journey helps inspire you if even in the smallest way. Lots of love ❤
