“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.”― Rumi
Even in the midst of darkness we find light. Sometimes a glimmer, a flicker, sometimes a flood. It’s warmth and golden rays illuminate us, our hearts become full once again.
But light also exposes those demons within and we find ourselves facing the terror of long hidden shadows. Shadows we’d have liked to keep hidden and buried away.
One cannot unsee that which has been seen.
And now? We can’t go back, we can’t unsee what’s been brought to light, yet with this new awareness we can’t continue on down the same dark path without facing our demons and destroying them for good.
But damn, do we ever try…
Love awakens something in us that changes us one way or another. In it’s wake we choose torment and darkness, or freedom and light.
We make war within ourselves, or art.
