Wind Dance-A Sweet Sigh, a Bitter Goodbye

As the wind loves to call things to dance,

May your gravity be lightened by grace.”

Like the dignity of moonlight restoring the earth,

May your thoughts incline with reverence and respect.”

― John O’Donohue

In the stillness of not quite awake, yet no longer asleep, a sacred space free of thought, free of burden, free of fear, I find myself resting in a place of non judgement, a free flowing awareness of what truly touches my soul. The most profound moments of purity and grace are found in this secret place, for it is here I find shelter.

~In the arms of my Beloved~

For a brief moment in time

Home once again

Held close, sheltered from the harsh autumn winds

My face nuzzled in the warmth of his strong, soft chest

A sacred soul dance

Together, we become one, dancing in perfect rhythm with our wildly beating hearts

A wind dance

The merging of earth and fire

Consumed

I gaze deeply into his soft, tender eyes

My heart, so full

A deep sense of the most profound peace.
His eyes
Igniting an unquenchable fire

The flames of love burn within.

I am my Beloved’s and he is mine

I kiss softly his icy cold cheek

Exposed to the wind, he keeps me safe and warm

His sacrifice

 A seemingly small sacrifice

A profound message etched forever upon my soul

My rock, my shelter from a world so harsh, so cold
My safe place
A tender, honey sweet kiss upon his cold lips

My offering to him

For words are meaningless here
A dance in time, a heart song of unconditional love

A sudden shift of the wind

Alone once again

A sweet sigh

A bitter goodbye

The wind awakens me to a harsh reality

Yet, it carries me back home to this sacred place

time and time again

This place of not quite awake, yet no longer asleep.
And in this place of longing

I find shelter once again

I find shelter within
